Color 4eva!

Gryphic's had her say, but now it's my turn. And I fully defend the word "color" and it's proper spelling.

Pretty much my biggest argument is the pronunciation. Color is pronounced color, not coloure. Thus, it should be spelled color and not colour. Another thing. Contrary to what Gryphic has ranted about, the letter U is actually an ugly letter, at least it is in my view. Why should it be placed into a word that creates such beauty and design?

NOTE: This is simply a rant. Please do not take this post entirely seriously.

Oh, and by the way, I would just like to point out that the Golden Compass is not The Golden Compass. The book is called Northern Lights and the device is called an alethiometer. Normally I'm on the American's side of things as I'm American, but there isn't a single instance of a golden compass in that book. So there.

wow. although i very strongly agree that it should be called northen lights (due to the lack of golden compasses), i was surprised to see hatkirby say that, as she generally agrees with the american version of things. do you think that the first HP should be called 'the Philosopher's stone', or 'the Sorcerer's stone'?

Nice try. It's the "Sorcerer's stone".

Do you know what surprised me? The fact that you didn't argue against my color claim.

i have given up on trying to educate you out of your Neanderthal ways of spelling (despite the fact that Neanderthals were found in Europe, not America...) about the HP thing, YOU ARE WRONG!!! it has nothing to do with a sorcerer. now that i have abused you enough, i shall retire from writing any more on this comment

....you're kidding. What does it NOT have to do with a sorcerer? The book is about MAGIC, not PHILOSOPHICAL THESES!

  1. The main characters in HP are witches and wizards, not sorcerers, and it is set in ENGLAND, whereas the term sorcerer is much more of an American one.

  2. I think that both of us are wrong. Technically it should be 'the Alchemist's Stone', as alchemists are the ones who tried to make a stone that can turn lead into gold and give you eternal life.

Fine.

And.... Neanderthal? If I'm Neanderthal, you're Homo habalis.

Hatkirby on May 21st, 2008 at 2:58:57am

Homo habalis?
