Well, I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! And now, some news. With the new Floppy Disk Drive I got for Christmas, development of Ohats can finally continue. That's the good news. The bad news is... as you should know, I'm currently on a vacation. And all of my source code is... at home. Well, of course it had to happen.

But, on the brighter side, it finally gives me time to make the Ohats Project page. But... hmmm... which section would it go into? It's certainly not Windows or Flash, it's not a challenge, and it's not really experimental... I know! I'll create its own category! After all, I'll have to release things FOR Ohats as well as the OS itself!

"Running Kirby"If you check the Projects section, you will see a new Experimental section. This section is a place I can play around with code and watch it work.

Each page in the Experimental section has a short paragraph describing the Goal, a paragraph describing the current status, a link to the source code (for those who can't right click and click "View Source") and the actual experiment itself.

The point of the experiment section is to have fun, and so you don't actually know if the project you are opening is done yet or not.

NOTE: Some projects are currently browser-dependent. For instance, "Running Kirby" currently requires Mozilla Firefox. (though I stand by my word and still say IE7 is better)

Boret

Well, once again, I am hosting another site! Boret, for Atmos. You can find it either at http://boret.fourisland.com, or the websites page.

This short Recent Update was brought to you by Hatkirby.

P.S. I've finished the little icons for the top, how does everyone like them?

Whew! Who likes the new site layout? I just spent the last four (actually three and a half, but four is just such a better number) hours designing it. What I think is the strangest part, however, is that I barely touched the HTML and PHP code (well, ok, I had to move the HatNav and the HatBar into header.php). Most of the changes you see are all CSS. Wow. No, I didn't think CSS could do that either. So, anyway, I hope you like the new site layout!

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, I haven't finished the little icons on the top yet so don't worry that your browser is malfunctioning.

ANOTHER EDIT: Yes! I have now finished the first two icons! Don't they look great? The third isn't done yet, and I'm going to re-do the fourth because I don't think it looks good enough.

Gravatars

Ok, big news everyone! I've now added new support for Gravatars. They are avatars that you create at http://site.gravatar.com, and appear as your gravatar on any Gravatar-Enabled commenting system.

To use gravatars, make sure your email address is registered in your profile. You can edit your profile on the forum. Then create your free gravatar account with the link above, assign an avatar to it, make some posts, and wow! There's your new Gravatar!

Hope you enjoy this new feature!

Well, for this week's poll of the week... I'm disappointed. But anyway, I guess it was a strange week, and I still did get some votes. With 3 votes in all, the results were interesting! Here they are:

The Projects Section - 1 vote(s)! Kirby's Fan Mail - 0 vote(s)! Recent Updates/Articles - 1 vote(s)! Other - 1 vote(s)!

Now, other than Poll of the Week, I have two more things to say. One, I have FINALLY finished the Tetrgi Documentation's Language Reference! So now you'll actually be able to program in Tetrgi! I can't seem to remember the other thing right now... oh yes! I finally managed to install SpamAssassin for my mail server, and those of you who have Four Island email accounts now have better spam protection! OK, I know there's something else to say, but I can't remember. I'll post back later!

Woah, I am updating rapidly! Anyway, I've finally fixed up the flash game section! It now includes:

  • Better descriptions of the games
  • Highscore lists
  • Warning notices
  • Commenting system
  • Rating System

All in all, I hope you enjoy the new flash game section!

HORRAY! My computer screen is fixed! This is soooo............. (At this point Hatkirby falls over and faints)

(Later...) OK... Anyway... in other news, I've put a new game up! It's located in the Windows Games section, though I guess you don't need Windows to play it. In fact, it's completely platform-notcaring! It's called the Impossible Maze! Go look at it!

Time is literally flying by! And, if I won't get attacked by a mob of wild Spearows trying to gnaw my head off because I'm saying this too late, allow me to say, Happy Thanksgiving!. Anyway, back to the poll. This week, we only had four votes and there is a clear winner:

Point and click - 0 vote(s)! Escape the room - 1 vote(s)! Role Playing - 1 vote(s)! Other - 3 vote(s)!

In other news, as JAL has finally emailed me his logo for Wikipinia, the sign of PIN, his wiki is starting to show some progress! Stay tuned for more information!

Horray! For all of those out there who need help, but lack the magic ingredient of a user account, I've added a ticket system! Click on the "Helpdesk" link in the Misc. Section on the HatNav.

The Helpdesk section allows you to create tickets which are protected by your email address and ticket ID. The tickets work in a thread-like style. I hope people find this useful because of the lack of proper documentation for things like Rubiwin and Tetrgi!
